Present indefinite tense
Introduction:

This tense shows the habitual or repeated action in the present time. It takes any action verb (read, write, eat, drink, etc.) in the first form. It also takes an adverb of frequency (always, never, often, daily, usually, hardly, etc.)
Examples:
➢ I always read novels.
➢ We never forget our keys.
➢ They seldom invite us.
Note:
We add s/es with the verb if the subject is; he, she, it, Ali (singular noun),The boy (singular noun).
Examples:
➢ She makes Biryani on Sundays.
➢ He reads stories at night.
➢ Ali often goes on long drive.
Note:
es is added when the verb ends in ss, x, sh, ch, and o.
Examples:
➢ He always crosses the busy road with utmost care.
➢ He mixes different colours together.
➢ She washes dishes in the evening.
➢ Masroor never catches the bus.
➢ My brother goes to school by bike.
Note: The part of the sentence after the verb is either a noun/pronoun or an adverb, or both of them.
Examples:
➢ They drink juice. (noun)
➢ He teaches me. (pronoun)
➢ They study here. (adverb)
➢ He teaches me here. (me is a pronoun, and here an adverb)
➢ They take juice here. (juice is a noun, and here an adverb)
Negative and Interrogative sentences:
Subjects that don’t take s/es after the verb are made negative and interrogative this way:
Examples:
➢ They live here.
➢ They do not live here. (do not is used between the subject and the verb)
➢ Do they live here? (Do is used before the subject)
➢ Do they not live here?
Subjects that do take s/es after the verb are made negative and interrogative this way:
Examples:
➢ He lives here.
➢ He does not live here. (does not is used between the subject and the verb, and s/es after the verb is stricken out)
➢ Does he live here? (Does is used before the subject, and s/es after the verb is stricken out)
➢ Does he not live here?
Note:
After reading all that, it’s time to practice it. While practicing use all the language skills. Use them in speaking and writing, and also find such structures in the books and movies or lectures.
